Reception Hall-FOUND!

Welp, I think we've found our reception hall!!  The first place we look, we like it!  How awesome is that!  The exact same thing happened when I tried on my first wedding gown...fell in love.  Which is amazing because I rarely ever find the perfect anything first time around...I'm so picky so I usually have to go three or four different places, even to find just an outfit to go out in!  So finding this reception hall has taken a lot of my mind already!  The best part about it is it's less than five minutes away from our church!  So here's a picture of one half of the ballroom...
Dark photo-but I found it on their website so it's all I had.
Obviously with my decorations, a little lighting, and our slideshow playing on all the screens, it will look a million times better!  There are flat screens in each corner, so I thought after the first time of playing our slide show on the big screen, we could just have it running on the televisions the rest of the night.

So this is where we will have our ceremony....our wonderful, beautiful church-Southwood Lutheran
Love this place.

The sanctuary...

Ignore the lift in this photo--I found it online, but these rafters are one of my favorite parts about our sanctuary!
Someone else's wedding--I think I'm going to love our pictures here!

Manzanita Branches

So...have you ever heard of Manzanita branches?  I never had.  I knew that I liked the look of the branch-ey centerpieces, but had no idea what they were exactly.  Until I watched Platinum Weddings the other day and they mentioned they used Manzanita wood for the centerpieces.  Ummm, I am in love with these things!  You can do so many different looks using them.  I like them used with hanging votive holders and crystals...maybe moss around the bottom?  I just love them.  Here are some of my favorites I found online:

Wedding Colors

I think I have an idea of what color scheme I want to go with!  I think I'm going with a darker gray/pewter color, with accents of fuchsia and silver-y diamond-y things!  As of right now that's what I'm thinking!! Here are my inspirational photos I've found online:

The Proposal

It all happened on Sunday, December 12th.  After church, I was crying to Brad (literally crying, yes I know, pathetic) about not getting to open an early Christmas gift.  He had promised me weeks before that I could open one gift before Christmas, since I paid for the extra on the new television we had purchased on cyber Monday.  He had gotten to watch his new TV for weeks and I had gotten nothing!  So, while I was in the middle of my sob-fest, Brad finally gave in to letting me open one, small present after dinner that night.  I was pretty excited and my tears quickly ceased.
After dinner, we got a movie and a bottle of wine to relax with.  Before starting the movie, Brad gave me my present...a brown paper gift bag with pink handles and pink tissue paper.  I opened it up to find a small box wrapped up, with a bow on top.  As I opened the box, Brad got down on one knee and took the box from my hand.  He asked me to marry him, and I teared up instantly!  I obviously said Yes!  Best day of my life.  I'm so excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and soul mate!  He's the greatest guy God could have ever given me!  I feel so lucky to have met Brad, and even luckier that he picked me! :)  And that's our proposal story.  I can't wait to start planning our wedding!

Here's my beautiful ring (the picture isn't the greatest because I took it with my phone)::

The beginning of our Journey!

I'm starting this wedding blog as sort of an inspiration page to help me with the wedding planning and to document our journey throughout the planning!  I can't wait to start planning our wedding, I know it will be the best day of my life, and I want every detail to be perfect....I'm a Virgo, so things have to go perfectly! :)  This is the beginning of our wild ride to the altar!
